We are located at Monterey Square on Bull Street between Gordon Street and E Wayne Street.  Please be aware that we have only on-street parking. It will be necessary for you to pay to park at a City parking meter during business hours, but not after 5 pm or on the weekends. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed.

Entrance to the sanctuary is from Bull Street, opposite Monterey Square.

For tours and events held in the Mordecai Sheftall Memorial, use the entrance on E. Wayne Street.  

There is no public entrance on Gordon Street.

Directions For Your Electronic Device (GPS / Cell Phone):  By entering our physical address of 20 East Gordon Street in Savannah, Georgia, you should obtain directions. Please note that the building is not physically marked with this address and this address is not used for mail.

Directions From Interstate 95:  Get on Interstate 16 by taking exit 99A (east) toward Savannah. Take exit 167B, the Montgomery Street exit. Merge into the far right hand lane of Montgomery Street and then take a right at the first stop light onto Liberty Street. Turn right at Whitaker Street (the next stoplight). Continue approximately 1/4 mile and then turn left on Gordon Street. Our building is the large Gothic sanctuary at the opposite end of the square.

Directions From South Carolina:  Travel on US-17 ALT S over the Talmadge Bridge (which crosses the Savannah River). This road becomes US-17 S/GA 25 ALT S. Just over the bridge, you will take the Oglethorpe Avenue exit and continue on Oglethorpe to Whitaker Street. Take a right on Whitaker Street (one-way street headed south), then turn left onto Gordon Street. Monterey Square will be directly in front of you and Congregation Mickve Israel will be at the southeast corner facing the square.

Directions From the South Side of Savannah: Drive north on Abercorn Street then turn left on US-80 West / East Victory Drive; turn right onto Drayton Street. Continue down Drayton Street past Forsyth Park (on the left) to Gaston Street and turn left. Next turn right onto Bull Street, which will bring you to Monterey Square. Turn right onto Gordon Street (to proceed around the square) and Congregation Mickve Israel will be at the southeast corner facing the square. 

Directions From the Islands (Whitemarsh, Wilmington, Tybee): Begin by going west on US-80, veer slightly right onto Island’s Expressway, which later becomes East President Street. Proceed until you reach the intersection of East Broad Street, then turn left, continue until you reach East Liberty Street where you will turn right. Turn left on Whitaker Street (one-way street headed south) then turn left onto Gordon Street. Monterey Square will be directlyin front of you and Congregation Mickve Israel will be at the southeast corner facing the square.
