Friends of Mickve Israel.

Friends of Mickve Israel is an active component and a vital part of this historic congregation.  Non-residents of Savannah and its surrounding communities can become Friends members, and with the help of your membership our historic synagogue will continue to provide a warm welcoming home to all those who visit Savannah.

Friends of Mickve Israel is a society of people who support the work of our congregation.  They may be members of other congregations or live a great distance away from Savannah.  Founded in 1733, we welcome you to become a part of the Mickve Israel extended family.

Our Friends members help connect us to the outer world, and they help make it possible for this historic Jewish community to survive and thrive.  Funds from the Friends of Mickve Israel are used to maintain our beautiful sanctuary and our museum.  Your membership contributes to the celebration of the Jewish heritage of Savannah and this special synagogue and community.

Individual:  10% off gift shop purchases, free admission to temple tours, listing of yahrzeits & an invitation to the annual Founders Day celebration on the Sabbath closest to July 11, in commemoration of the founding of the Congregation in 1733, at which time the oldest torah scroll in America is read.

Family:  All of the above plus one lapel pin, a George Washington letter, a Mickve Israel history brochure & a Mickve Israel Bookmark.

Contributing:  All of the above plus a Mickve Israel mezuzzah & one 12 pack of Mickve Israel note cards.
